Plagiarism Policy

The Electronic Journal of Mathematical Modelling in Engineering and Digital Sciences (EJMMEDS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism in all forms and expects authors to submit only original work.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text, ideas, figures, tables, or data from another source without proper acknowledgment.
  • Presenting another person's work or ideas as one's own.
  • Using substantial portions of previously published work without appropriate citation.
  • Self-plagiarism, including the reuse of significant parts of an author's own published work without proper reference.
  • Paraphrasing another author's work without proper attribution.

Similarity Check

All submitted manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism detection software before being sent for peer review. The editorial team evaluates similarity reports carefully to distinguish legitimate citations and references from potential plagiarism.

Acceptable Similarity Level

The journal generally expects manuscripts to demonstrate originality and maintain a low similarity index. Similarity percentages alone do not determine plagiarism; each case is assessed individually based on the nature and extent of overlapping content.

Editorial Action

If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publication process, the journal may take one or more of the following actions:

Before Publication

  • Request revision and proper citation of the copied material.
  • Reject the manuscript.
  • Suspend consideration of the manuscript until concerns are resolved.

After Publication

  • Publish a correction if appropriate.
  • Retract the published article.
  • Notify the author's institution or relevant authorities when necessary.

Author Responsibilities

Authors must:

  • Ensure that all submitted work is original.
  • Properly cite and reference all sources used in the manuscript.
  • Obtain necessary permissions for copyrighted materials.
  • Acknowledge the contributions of other researchers and authors.

Self-Plagiarism

Authors should not submit manuscripts that substantially overlap with their previously published work unless appropriate disclosure, citation, and justification are provided.

Ethical Commitment

The journal takes plagiarism seriously and is dedicated to protecting the integrity of scholarly communication. Any suspected cases of plagiarism or publication misconduct will be investigated thoroughly and handled in accordance with established ethical publishing practices.

By submitting a manuscript to EJMMEDS, authors confirm that their work is original and complies with the journal’s plagiarism policy.
